First of all, wishing all of you a very happy and colourful Holi !!
I make it a point to watch India TV everyday for about fifteen minutes to half an hour. Like the usual viewers of India TV, I am not looking for current news on this so called news channel but the main idea is to relax a bit after hectic travelling and work throughout the day. Trust me, if you watch it with your friends, the daily prime time dose of India TV is good enough to ease the tension. Ayush (my room mate) and myself try so hard to avoid the crap of this news channel but to be very honest, somehow both of us are looking forward to our daily dose of 15 minutes. So far as India TV is concerned, it plays its role to the best by making a great story everyday which has nothing to do with the current events.
On a serious note, India TV is a shame on all the news Channel and Indian media. They have to talk about all the crap in the world and every week they decide on the date when the entire world will perish (Sarvanaash and Parlay) but unfortunately, they day never comes and they keep on revising the date. Lately, Pakistan is their prime time topic and they way they make the headlines is really funny - 'Pakistan jhoota hai...Jardari miya kaha jaoge bach je ab...'. Some of the best one which I remeber are - 'Paijama 2 inch neech aur jaan gayi' - This is with respect to some fatwa in Taliban. 'Truck dhabe mein ghusa, billi (Cat) ki poonch baddi ho gayi, nag aur naagin ki prem kahani, Swarg jaane ka raashta (This is another favorite of India TV), Pataal ka raashta and the list is endless.
Everything which they show on their channel is undoubtedbly the BREAKING NEWS irrespective of the fact that whatever they show has no co-relation with other sensible news channel and current event of the country. Earlier I used to be very worried at the irresponsibility of media in our country but since news channel like India TV does not deserve to be in media league there is no point being worried and after all who cares about the image of country, it is TRP that matters for this absolutely irresponsible news channel with Zero news.

India TV is a news channel with no conscience or sense of moral responsibility.......but to be honest, i watch it everyday for 15 min, because its entertaining and hilarious. They have virtually changed the definition of BREAKING NEWS.....currently i'm watching " KYA DHARTI KHATAM HONE WALI HAI ??" on india tv........If there was ever an award for best crap on tv, india tv would win it hands down.....
yaa definately these people are creating a fake image of our media & broadcasting industry,establishing wrong notion in the minds of a common man,strict action should be taken against them,otherwise paeple will lost there faith from news channels.
i agree with what amit has too say.. media should be held responsible for sensationalisation of news .

I too have seen pataal ka raasta shown once and sat through the programme feeling they were really going to show something.....
However now-a-days the bloggers are being threatened with legal action for their free views expressed over the net......I prefer not to allude to the cases in point to avoid legal action on me.....
Thing is anything goes so far as everyone is entertained.

I remember last time i was with friends watching TV and nothing interesting was on, the guys agreed in tandem to switch to India TV...atleast we could have some laugh since they were showing 'naag aur naagin ki shaadi'. Another one which i remember is when i was in pune- 'aaj darwaja band rakhna, warna alien aayega aur aapko le jayega' and 'rat 10 baje remote ko haath mat lagana, usme current aayega'. I think they should change it to comedy channel but then they will lose viewers looking for news and will only be left with comedy fans who are there anyways.
Totally agree to amit's blog. Current events is something which this channel has never known. Its not a news channel its a complete entertainer and a bullshit in the name of media. I just wonder how the broadcasting industry has given them licence to operate as a media channel!!!!!!!
nyways watever be the case but is a complete mind refresher provided you are watching this with your frens group.I bet you will enjoy each and every news.

The irony is that everybody is ready to swear that they never watch India TV. But can somebody tell me how these people are aware of the stories being shown on this channel?

I too would like to join the league of like minded people..India TV is nothing but a pure entertainment channel. Before switching to CNBC everyday in the night, I too, take a dose of India TV purely for their non-sensical headlines..I remember particularly one..I know guys you will not appreciate it, but may be some girls would enjoy.. It was during the time when Kyunki...was going off air and Balika Vadhu(a saga of Child marriage on Colors) has replaced the TRP charts..the way the anchor spoke showing Smriti Irani "iski jaan kisne lee", then they showed Avika Gaur, the female protegee named "Anandi" - "issne li..issne li..." I just burst into laughter.. They can give you crap on any topic..Just too great to miss..
But Star News is a tough competitior for India TV..You should have seen yesterday's news at prime time..Virendra Sehwag was singing "Sasural Genda Phool" from Delhi 6 during the match practice.. and that was the news...Arrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh..Please god!!!!
his news channel is an example in showing the heights of Absurd and Untrue news, Just running to fool the people around.This Channel
is trying everything to gain TRP but dont know the reality besides everything.They think that defaming Pujya Asaram bapu or showing that UFO’s are taking away our cows can help them with their TRPs. People managing this channel please get into real world. News channels are supposed to show reality and not fake themselves with news only to get better TRPs. They dont know that they themselves what they’re doing to India.Wake up.Channel showing such kind of news cannot survive for long.Be Real and be informative if you want to persist in the market.By showing such kind of news you can only make people laugh on you.
